Make simple, cheesy jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon. This recipe works well for baking, grilling, or using an air fryer, perfect for game day snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large jalapeños
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 slices bacon, cut in half crosswise

Instructions

  1. Prepare the jalapeños: Cut each jalapeño in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and white membranes to reduce heat.
  2. Make the filling: In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder until combined.
  3. Fill the peppers: Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeño half.
  4. Wrap with bacon: Wrap one half-slice of bacon around each filled jalapeño half, securing it with a toothpick if necessary.
  5. Cook the poppers: You can bake, grill, or air fry. For baking, place on a baking sheet and cook at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp. For grilling, cook over medium heat until bacon is done. For air frying, cook at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, checking frequently.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For less spicy poppers, remove all white membrane from the jalapeños.
  • You can prepare these ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours before cooking.
  • If baking, line your pan with foil for easier cleanup.
