You create the ultimate comfort dessert by combining sweet, tender apple pie filling with the gooey texture of pre-made cinnamon rolls. This easy bake is perfect for holidays or cozy weekend treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (21 ounce) can pre-made cinnamon rolls, icing packet saved
  • 1 (21 ounce) can pre-made apple pie filling
  • 1 (14.1 ounce) package refrigerated pie crusts (2 count), optional for bottom layer
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce, optional for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. If using a bottom crust, place one pie crust into the bottom of the prepared pie plate and press it into place. Trim any excess dough.
  3. Empty the can of apple pie filling into the pie plate over the bottom crust. Spread the filling evenly.
  4. Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Cut each cinnamon roll in half horizontally to create thinner pieces.
  5. Arrange the cut cinnamon roll pieces over the apple filling. Place them close together to cover the surface. You may need to slightly overlap them.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the cinnamon roll topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  7. Remove the pie from the oven. While the pie cools slightly, prepare the icing by mixing the contents of the icing packet with 1 teaspoon of milk or water until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the prepared icing over the warm cinnamon roll topping. If you are using caramel sauce, drizzle that on top of the icing.
  9. Let the pie cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

  • If you prefer a cobbler style, skip the bottom pie crust and simply mix the apple filling and the cut cinnamon rolls together in a baking dish before topping with the icing.
  • For an extra gooey texture, warm the apple pie filling slightly before adding it to the crust.
  • Serve this warm apple and cinnamon dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent experience.
