Make crispy, spicy, and creamy Bang Bang Shrimp at home using your air fryer. This quick recipe delivers restaurant-style flavor, perfect for an appetizer or a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry using paper towels. This helps them get crispy.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. This is your dry coating.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, and garlic powder. This is your homemade Bang Bang Sauce. Set aside.
  4. Set your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  5. Dredge each shrimp first in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip it into the beaten egg, and finally coat it again lightly in the flour mixture.
  6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the coated shrimp in a single layer in the basket, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  7. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the shrimp halfway through, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Place the hot, crispy shrimp into a large bowl. Pour about two-thirds of the prepared Bang Bang Sauce over the shrimp and toss gently to coat everything evenly.
  9. Serve the shrimp immediately, drizzled with any remaining sauce and garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For an extra crispy texture, you can lightly spray the coated shrimp with cooking spray before placing them in the air fryer.
  • If you prefer a Bonefish Grill copycat flavor, add 1 teaspoon of cream cheese softened into the sauce mixture.
  • Serve this flavorful seafood recipe over rice or use it as a filling for Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos.
