Make this simple, flavorful smoked salmon dip in under ten minutes. It uses cream cheese for a smooth texture and is perfect for parties, brunches, or serving with crackers and vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the chopped smoked salmon, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced red onion, and capers (if using) to the bowl.
  3. Use a fork or an electric mixer on low speed to combine all ingredients until the dip is smooth and creamy. Do not overmix.
  4. Season the dip with black pepper. Taste and adjust lemon juice or salt if needed (smoked salmon is often salty).
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Serve cold with bagel chips, crackers, crostini, or fresh vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • For a low carb or keto-friendly option, serve this dip only with cucumber slices or celery sticks.
  • You can prepare this dip up to 24 hours ahead of time. Keep it covered tightly in the refrigerator.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, pulse the ingredients in a food processor until just combined.
