Create a creamy, flavorful garlic aioli sauce in just five minutes using simple ingredients. This recipe delivers restaurant-style quality perfect for dipping fries or spreading on sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (full fat recommended)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced very fine
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the minced garlic in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to allow the flavor to mellow slightly before mixing.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Whisk all ingredients together until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform.
  4. Taste the aioli. Add more salt, pepper, or lemon juice if you desire a stronger flavor.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the garlic aioli in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving. This step helps the flavors combine.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute 1/4 cup of the mayonnaise with sour cream or plain Greek yogurt.
  • If you prefer a milder garlic taste, use only 2 cloves of garlic. For a stronger taste, add one more clove.
  • This homemade garlic sauce keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
