Ingredients
Scale
1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and completely dried
10 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or high-quality white chocolate, chopped
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
Assorted sprinkles or edible glitter (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
Prepare the strawberries: Gently wash the strawberries and dry them thoroughly with paper towels. Moisture prevents the chocolate from sticking properly. Leave the green tops (stems) on for easy handling and visual appeal.
Melt the white chocolate: Place the white chocolate wafers (and coconut oil, if using) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. Do not overheat.
Dip the strawberries: Hold a strawberry by the stem end. Dip it into the melted white chocolate, rotating it to coat about two-thirds of the berry. Lift the berry out, allowing excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
Decorate immediately: If using sprinkles or glitter, apply them immediately while the chocolate is still wet.
Set the chocolate: Place the dipped strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Chill: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the white chocolate is completely set and firm.
Serve or package: These gourmet dipped fruit treats are ready to serve or package as easy edible gifts.
Notes
Ensure your strawberries are completely dry before dipping; water causes the chocolate to seize.
For a thinner coating, add a small amount of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to the melted chocolate.
If you do not have parchment paper, you can use wax paper, but parchment paper prevents sticking better.
